International Day of Girls

The purpose of the celebration of this day is to draw attention to the social problems and inequalities experienced by girls all over the world, directly related to the attitude of the surrounding society towards the female sex. These include educational opportunities, nutrition, health care, social rights, protection from discrimination, violence and forced marriage in childhood.
